Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers to the questions we hear most. If yours is not here, call the number for your county or send us a request.
Emergencies
Do you offer 24/7 emergency service?
Yes. Call the number for your county any time, day or night: 561-468-REEF in Palm Beach County, 954-869-REEF in Broward County.
What counts as an electrical emergency?
A burning smell, smoke, sparks, an outlet or switch that is hot to the touch, a buzzing panel, water near electrical equipment, or part of the house suddenly without power. If there is smoke or fire, get out and call 911 first. If it is safe, turn off the breaker for that circuit or the main breaker, then call us.
Services
What services do you offer?
We do electrical work only: panel upgrades and replacements, EV charger installation, indoor lighting, outdoor lighting, recessed lighting, chandelier installation, and electrical repairs with 24/7 emergency service.
Can you install an EV charger at my home?
Yes. We install Level 2 chargers on a dedicated 240 volt circuit. First we run a load calculation to confirm your panel can carry it. If it cannot, we explain your options, from a lower charger setting to a panel upgrade.
My insurance company says I need to replace my panel. Can you help?
Yes. Insurers in Florida often flag Federal Pacific, Zinsco and fuse panels during a 4-point inspection. We replace them. Ask your insurer what documentation they need afterward.

Do you work in condos and HOA communities?
Yes. Many associations require approval before electrical work, especially for exterior lighting or EV chargers. Check with your board or HOA first, and we will plan the work around their requirements.
My breaker keeps tripping. What should I do?
Reset it once. If it trips again right away, leave it off and call us. A breaker that trips is protecting the wire. Forcing it back on can turn a small problem into a dangerous one.
Pricing
Do you offer any discounts?
Yes. Seniors and military get 15% off. Let us know when you call or request service.
How much will my job cost?
It depends on the job. Replacing a light fixture and upgrading an electrical service are very different jobs. Call us or send a request with a few details about what you need, and we will talk it through with you.
