Deerfield Beach housing
Deerfield Beach sits at the north end of Broward County, right against Boca Raton, and its housing is a mix you notice the moment you drive in. Century Village East is a large 55+ condominium community on the west side of the city. Deer Creek is built around a golf course. The Cove sits along the Intracoastal near Hillsboro Boulevard, with homes on the water. East of the Intracoastal, the beach area has condos and older homes a short walk from the ocean. In between are blocks of single family concrete block homes built across several decades.
Condo work
In condo communities, most calls are about the unit: an outlet or switch that stopped working, a breaker that trips, fixtures that need replacing, or brighter, safer light in a kitchen or bathroom. Better lighting matters more than people think, especially for anyone who has trouble seeing at night. Our indoor lighting work covers fixture replacements, under cabinet lighting and switch upgrades.
Condo electrical work has an extra layer: the association. Most have rules about contractor access, working hours and proof of insurance. We are licensed and insured, and we work within those rules. If a problem in your unit traces back to the building’s own wiring, we will tell you, so you can bring it to the association.
Older single family homes
In the older homes, the common findings are original or obsolete panels, two prong outlets on ungrounded circuits, and kitchens and baths without enough circuits for modern use. Some homes built in the late 1960s and early 1970s were wired with aluminum branch circuits. If yours was, it needs an electrician’s attention at outlets, switches and splices. When the panel itself is the problem, a panel upgrade is the fix, and our guide to the warning signs explains what to watch for.
Near the beach
Within a few blocks of the ocean, salt air finds every outdoor fixture, receptacle and meter can. Corrosion causes loose connections and outlets that quit. For outdoor lighting and exterior outlets near the coast, we use weather resistant devices, wet location covers and fixtures made for salt exposure.
Hurricane season
Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30. Ground floor units and garages are usually the first places water reaches. If water got to outlets or the panel, leave those circuits off and have them inspected before turning power back on. Report downed lines to FPL and stay clear of them.
